'get down to business = cut to the chase = get (straight) to the point = (바로) 본론으로 들어가다 = 요점/핵심만 말하다 = 결론만 말하다' 유사한 의미로 사용된다. 

[롱맨] to start doing something that is difficult or needs a lot of time or energy
[캠브리지] (1) get down to business : to start talking about the subject to be discussed (2) get down to something : to start to direct your efforts and attention to something, esp. work
