'(an) elephant in the room = 누구나 잘못됐다는 것을 알 수 있는, 눈에 띄는 혹은 분명한 문제이나 이야기하기 곤란하거나 민감한, 혹은 이야기하고 싶어 하지 않는 문제'를 가리키는 표현이다.
